(HR) Same Same But Different - Cultural Diversity

Understand what it takes to live and work in a Multi-cultural place like Australia. Hear more about the differences that seem to set us part while really they are bringing us to a better place of knowledge and acceptance.

Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their own conscious awareness. Unconscious bias is far more prevalent than conscious prejudice and often incompatible with one’s conscious values. Accidental, unintended, subtle and completely unconscious choices, made by everyone, all the time.

This workshop delves into the areas of known biases and examines the SEEDS Model

SIMILARITY - "People like me are better than others"
EXPEDIENCE - "If it feels right, it must be true"
EXPERIENCE - "My perceptions are accurate"
DISTANCE - "Closer is better than distant"
SAFETY - "Bad is stronger than good"
