Course includes

  • identify and apply worksite safety requirements
  • identify and prepare equipment for insulator washing
  • inspect and maintain tools and equipment used for insulator washing
  • test the quality of water used for insulator washing
  • test insulators for defects
  • wash insulators supporting high voltage apparatus

Prerequisites

  • Network Authority Card (NAC)
  • Certificate III in ESI – Distribution overhead qualification
  • TLILIC2005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
  • Licence to perform high risk work – WP (elevating work platform)

Additional information

To undertake this course, you may be required to provide the following plant and equipment:

  • high voltage insulated EWP fitted with high voltage earth lead and spike
  • minimum of 450 litre water tank filled with de-mineralised water
  • high pressure washing unit
  • insulated high pressure hose
  • insulated washing wand
  • silicone wipes
  • a water meter
  • a wind meter

Note: All equipment must be in-test.
