Recipient In Charge (RIC) for vicinity authority

This one day course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to undertake the responsibilities of Recipient in Charge (RIC) to receive Vicinity Authority permits.

Who should attend

This course is suitable for existing recipients within the Western Power permit to work system who require Recipient in Charge (RIC) to receive Vicinity Authority permits.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for attendance at this training course are:

  • Network authority card (NAC)

Note: All prerequisites need to be current.

Learning outcomes

As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:

  • use Western Power’s permit to work procedures
  • identify the responsibilities of the RIC in relation to Vicinity Authority permits
  • apply effective hazard and risk control measures e.g. identify safe working clearance requirements

PPC/PPE and equipment requirements

No personal protective equipment or clothing is required for the course.

PTSWA training room standards apply:

  • smart casual attire (no shorts)
  • enclosed footwear

Assessments

Assessments are included in this course. On-the-job assessments will need to be completed within six months of completing the off-the-job component of the course. Participants will not be considered to have completed this course until all assessments have been completed to a satisfactory level.
