Schneider reclosers and load break switches

This five day course provides participants with knowledge of Nu-Lec switchgear, the installation and operation of Nu-Lec switchgear and the programming and commissioning of Nu-Lec switchgear.

Who should attend

People required to program and commission Nu-Lec switchgear.

Enrolment in this training course needs to be authorised by the Field Services Coordinator of Network Investigations. Please add your name to the waitlist if you have been authorised to enrol in this training course. Power Training Services will be in contact with you to confirm your enrolment.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for attendance at this course are:

  • Western Australian Electrician’s Licence
  • Network Authority Card

Note: All prerequisites need to be current.

Learning outcomes

As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:

  • explain the purpose and operation of Nu-Lec switchgear used on Western Power’s Network
  • interrogate and program relevant settings using proprietary software
  • demonstrate and describe the programming and commissioning of Nu-Lec switchgear

PPC and PPE requirements

Some of the practical training for this course will take place in an operational area. You are required to have/provide Western Power approved PPC and PPE requirements for the practical work. Refer to the Western Power PPE Procedure Sections 3.1 & 3.2, for these requirements.

Note: Unless otherwise stated, Power Training Services does not provide PPE, PPC and tools for training courses.

Assessments

Assessments are included in this course. Participants will not be considered to have completed this course until all assessments have been completed to a satisfactory level. Note that there is an assessment requirement to complete an on-the-job workbook after you have completed this training course.
