Suitable for
People who are required to operate an excavator within the Resources, Construction and infrastructure industries.
Course includes
The operation of an excavator including:
- loading,
- bulk excavation
- backfilling
- trench excavation
- stockpiling
- battering and benching;
- lifting
- carrying and placing materials
Plus:
- planning and preparing
- conducting machine pre-operational checks
- selecting, removing and fitting attachments
- relocating the machine
- carrying out machine operator maintenance
- cleaning up.
Prerequisites
To gain the Unit of Competency, you will need to provide your Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not have a USI please apply for one via the USI website.
Special requirements
You will need to complete a pre-course assessment.
Once your training has been booked, an email will be sent to you with a copy of the learner guide and assessment.
Failure to complete the pre-course assessment prior to the commencement of the course will result in re-scheduling of training. Cancellation fees may apply.
What to wear
- PPE Level 1 – including long pants, sleeved shirt and steel-capped boots.
