Perform rescue from a live LV panel and CPR Training

This training includes both Perform rescue from a live LV panel & provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
It covers the performance of rescue procedures from live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the work place and the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Prerequisites

  • completion of online pre-learning for both the HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and UETTDRRF06B Perform rescue from a live LV panel
  • a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not have a USI please apply for one via the USI website.

Course includes

Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) Training

  • prepare to perform rescue procedures from live LV panel
  • carry out rescue from live LV panel
  • complete the LV panel rescue procedure
  • the mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions.
  • responsibilities for, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

CPR Training

  • responding to an emergency
  • performing CPR procedures – application of compressions and rescue breathing when a person is unresponsive and breathing abnormally.
  • communicating details of the incident
  • performing CPR to sustain brain function and life until medical support arrives.

What to wear

PTS training room standards apply:

  • smart casual attire (no shorts)
  • enclosed footwear

Special requirements

  • you will need to complete pre-learning before attending this course. You will receive an email from St Johns containing a link to the pre-learning questionnaire shortly after your enrolment is confirmed.
  • you will be required to show photo ID to the trainer at the start of the training day

Assessments

Assessments are included in this course.

  • As part of these units of competency you will be required to perform 4 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin (placed on the floor) and 4 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an infant manikin (placed on a firm surface).
  • When deemed competent a statement of attainment will be awarded.
