FMS2 - Field Mobility Services

This course provides training on how to use the FMS Mobile Device to access and complete work orders in the field including:

  • OH core maintenance work (Pre-site, Prep and Construction)
  • Western Power OH DQM (project) work (excluding Customer Funded)
  • Streetlight Faults
  • Transmission Volumetric (Pre-site, Prep and Construction)

Suitable for

  • Transmission or Distribution Operational Maintenance field crews who complete and/or receive work orders in the field.

Course includes

As a result of attending this training, participants should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of roles and responsibilities for the business process
  • Use FMS Mobile Device to:

Complete mandatory fields and complete data sheets
Understand job statuses and alarms
Understand reallocation of jobs and no work/actions
Record GPS locationo
Access and use camera and save photos
Add and use forms and attachments

  • Access help when required

Prerequisites

Participants must have a basic understanding of how to use a Toughpad and basic computer literacy skills.

A Basic use of Toughpad (2hr) course is available and must be completed prior to attending this course, for participants with no experience with computers or Toughpads.

What to wear

PPE Level 0 including:

  • long-sleeved shirt and long trousers
  • enclosed, flat footwear (must provide full protection of foot, ie not sneaker or canvas shoes)

Toughpads with a mouse and keyboard attached that has the FMS Operator Console app downloaded on the device, are required for training.
