Safety Representative Refresher

Update of the skills of Safety and Health Representatives (SHRs) to effectively promote safety in the workplace and carry out responsibilities outlined in the relevant legislation.

Course duration

Suitable for

Existing SHRs wanting to update their knowledge and skills on the latest safety legislation.

Course includes

  • reinforcing objectives outlined in the legislation
  • understanding recent legislative amendments and how to apply them in the workplace
  • communicating information on safety and health issues
  • representing employees in matters of safety and health
  • resolving conflict and issue Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) in their role as a SHR

Prerequisites

Completion of Safety and Health Representatives (Introductory) course (SFTSHR)

NOTE: you will be required to produce your licence or photo identification to the training provider on the day of training.

What to wear

PTS training room standards:

  • smart casual attire (no shorts)
  • enclosed footwear

Assessments

There are no formal assessments or written tests.
Participants will be expected to take part in activities and demonstrate key skills and knowledge throughout the course.

Certification

On successful completion of this course a certificate of participation will be issued.
